HLS October CAS Challenge

Hi everyone.  Welcome to the HLS CAS challenge for October. Thanks to everyone who participated in our September Colouring challenge.  We loved seeing the different products you use to colour. :)  We had an amazing amount of entries --- so many beautiful cards in the gallery and on our Pinterest Board.  The winners will be announced on Oct. 10.

Here's our new challenge ...

Paper piecing is fun, easy to do and adds lots of interest to your line images.  Adding just a little patterned paper or solid coloured card stock to a card will keep it CAS.  There are a few different ways to Paper Piece, so check out the wonderful video tutorials listed below for options.  Or maybe you know of a different way to paper piece??  Let us know.  This is all about having fun and sharing knowledge. :)

The Design Team have come up with some fantastic examples using Paper Piecing ... and I know you'll be inspired.  If you have time, drop by their blogs to see the details on how they made their cards, or leave a little love for them here in the comment section at the bottom of the post. We'd love to hear from you.

Please remember to keep your card entries CAS ...

At Happy Little Stampers, CAS  (clean and simple) is defined as:

- one main focal point
- lots of white or open (no pattern) space
- minimal layers
- minimal embellishments

This month we are thrilled to have Sylvia (Poppy's Papercraft Patch) as our Guest Designer.
Lots of wonderful inspiration!  Speaking of inspiration, make sure to check out our HLS October CAS Challenge board on Pinterest, which has the Design Team, Guest Designer and participant's cards!
